Cybela Coutaud

Source imagery captures Cybela across three phases of the story: her New Government tenure during the Anti-Spiral War, the Super Galaxy Team Dai-Gurren costume worn on the final campaign, and her appearance in the series epilogue.

Computers are her instrument. As Chief of Analysis she runs the New Government's data operations, and when the Mugann first strike she is the one combing government databases for anything matching the attackers. Aboard the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren she assumes control of the flagship's computing for the war beyond Earth.

Cybela debuts in Episode 17 on Rossiu's staff, handling computer work for the New Government. When Team Dai-Gurren launches its campaign against the Anti-Spirals, she ships out with the crew and manages the flagship's systems. The alternate-universe sequence of Episode 26 shows her sharing a bed with Tetukan, a scene hinting that at least one of the pair harbors romantic feelings. The epilogue closing Episode 27 places her under Viral's command.

Her given name rearranges the Japanese word shirabe, meaning to search, a fitting label for the woman who hunts the government's records for answers. She also appears, alongside a younger Guinble Kite, in the opening of the film The Lights in the Sky are Stars.
