Do-Ten-Kai-Zan

The Do-Ten-Kai-Zan is the mightiest machine the Four Generals can put on the field, assembled by locking their separate Dai-Guns into one enormous fortress. It surfaces in a single place, the opening film Childhood's End, and its true power is never really tested. Gurren Lagann and the Dai-Gurren tear it apart within seconds of its arrival, so the fearsome bulk barely gets to fight.

Four component craft come together to build it: Dai-Gunten, Dai-Gundo, Dai-Gunkai, and, filling in for the captured Dai-Gunzan, Viral's Dai-Gunzan-Du. The sequence begins as Dai-Gundo whirls until a rainbow-hued cloud swallows the group, then cleaves in two and clamps onto the flanks of the Dai-Gunzan-Du. Dai-Gunkai halves lengthwise to fit over the upper arms, Dai-Gunten folds into an X for the others to settle upon, and the last plates lock home.

Once combined, the giant pours the missile ports of every Dai-Gun into one saturating volley that leaves no blind angle, yet even that storm cannot dent the Dai-Gurren.

The three surviving generals crew it. After Simon cuts down Cytomander, a rattled Adiane, Guame, and Viral fall back to their own Dai-Guns and fuse them together. The combined ship hurls a terrifying missile barrage at the Dai-Gurren, but Simon throws up a Spiral Power barrier that shrugs it off. Team Dai-Gurren answers with the Giga Drill Break in its Team Dai-Gurren Special form, which bores clean through Dai-Gunten, then Dai-Gundo and Guame, then Dai-Gunkai and Adiane, and finally the Dai-Gunzan-Du, just grazing past Viral. He alone walks away, his hatred stoked hotter by the loss.

Because Cytomander had beamed the fight worldwide expecting a public execution, the wreck is witnessed across the planet and stirs humanity to climb toward the surface.
