Lazengann

Lazengann, a name that reads as Spiral Face, is the personal Gunman of Lordgenome. Standing tall and jet-black, it carries a single-horned helmet, a mouthplate across its chest, a striking tail, and a body pocked with ports through which drills can push out. It is one of the few machines built to rival Gurren Lagann head on.

Where Gurren Lagann wears two horns, taken from Enki's shattered crest, Lazengann bears only one. It counts as a Gurren-Lagann-type machine, so it shares Lagann's repertoire, but it hits harder, wields fiercer drill techniques, and shrugs off the moves its counterpart throws at it. In place of the enemy's thick Giga Drills, it favors thin, flexible drills that bend their angle in mid-thrust and crack like whips. Even the cockpit differs: its spiral display is jagged and blocky rather than smooth and round, glows red instead of green, and winds counter-clockwise as it charges rather than clockwise.

Oddly, part of its energy comes from Lordgenome's concubines sealed away inside drills, a workaround for having no second pilot to supply enough Spiral Power. Its known moves include an unnamed Giga Drill attack that braids countless drills into one titanic spike, and the Drill Bullets, a move exclusive to the Otoko Series that fires drill-shaped rounds.

Lordgenome alone pilots the Lazengann. He brings it out for a decisive duel against Simon and Rossiu, who share the Gurren Lagann, outmatching them early on. When Simon tries a Lagann Impact, Lordgenome blows off the very arm the Lagann has latched onto, denying the hijack, then battles the smaller Lagann one on one; his Giga Drill meets Simon's drill but cannot beat it, and the Lazengann is torn apart. It returns later built into the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann itself, only to be spent in Lordgenome's selfless Lazengann Overload.

That move drinks in the Infinity Big Bang Storm hurled by the Granzeboma, fuses it with the machine and its pilot, and turns the whole into raw Spiral Power shaped as a huge drill crowned by Lordgenome's head, which the giant robot swallows through its belly-mouth to power a devastating Giga Drill strike. The movie instead channels that energy into Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
