"Blood-Writing" Omasa

Omasa is a big man topped with pale hair, two braids dangling before his face and each ending in a small bell. Fine whiskers line his jaw, and a long scar cuts down over his right eye.

His standing as a yakuza boss won him the loyalty of Udon's people and the regard of his fellow bosses, who could work alongside him. He reserves particular reverence for Hyougoro, ready to threaten anyone who insults the elder and quick to follow his orders. Beneath the toughness sits a caring, courageous streak: once the Ice Oni virus took hold of him, he was prepared to take his own life rather than turn on his comrades and spread the infection.

Somewhere in his past Omasa rose to lead the yakuza of Udon. When the Beasts Pirates seized Wano he defied them and was thrown into the region's Prisoner Mine, where his strength was such that he could pin down a struggling Luffy during a bout of punishment. After Luffy sparked a revolt and the inmates were set loose, the yakuza bosses paid their respects to Hyougoro, moved to discipline Luffy for his casual manner with the elder, then backed off at Hyougoro's word and scattered to gather their followers.

Two days before the assault on Onigashima, Omasa and his fellow bosses gave Kin'emon their recruitment tallies. The rebels mustered at Habu Port, and once the Fire Festival came around they shipped out from Tokage Port together with the Nine Red Scabbards. Once inside Onigashima, they donned Beasts Pirates disguises supplied by Kin'emon, and Omasa fell in with Denjiro's southern forces, later cutting down enemy pirates as the alliance pressed the assault. When Queen released the Ice Oni plague and Omasa was infected, he moved to end his life but was stopped by Hyougoro. He turned fully into an Ice Oni, and it was only after Zoro obtained the antidote from Apoo and Marco's phoenix flames washed over him that his mind returned. With the yakuza chiefs and X Drake standing watch over him while Chopper raced to mass-produce the cure, Omasa began slipping back under the virus and asked Tsunagoro to finish him, only for Chopper's antidote to reach him and every other infected fighter in time.
