Beasts Pirates

Under their governor-general Kaidou, once counted among the Four Emperors, the Beasts Pirates grew into one of the most feared crews on the seas. They made Wano Country their stronghold, headquartered on the island of Onigashima, and spent twenty-six years cementing control over Wano through a partnership with its shogun, Kurozumi Orochi. Within the three years before their fall, the crew joined Caesar Clown and the Warlord Doflamingo to mass-produce artificial Zoan fruits known as SMILE, which gave them more than five hundred fighters carrying Devil Fruit powers.

Numbering close to twenty thousand, the organization ran on a rigid ladder of command. Kaidou sat at the summit with total authority, backed by three executives called the All-Stars or Calamities, beneath whom served the second-rank Shinuchi, the strongest of them designated the Tobiroppo. The lower tiers split into Gifters granted SMILE powers, the far more numerous Pleasures who failed to gain abilities, and the Waiters who still hoped for a fruit of their own, alongside oddities like the giant-imitating Numbers.

Captained by an Emperor, the crew ranked among the four mightiest pirate forces in the world, and even the bold Doflamingo was openly terrified of Kaidou. Kaidou had cut down the Warlord Gecko Moria and slaughtered his crew, dared to move against the Whitebeard Pirates, and clashed with the Red Hair Pirates, while the Five Elders counted them among the few groups capable of halting Blackbeard. After the Straw Hats freed Caesar, wrecked the SMILE Factory, and toppled Doflamingo, Kaidou struck a fresh pact with the crew of Big Mom, the pair of Emperors scheming to claim the One Piece along with the Ancient Weapons and rule everything.

Central to that plot was Kaidou's New Onigashima Project, meant to swap Orochi for Yamato as shogun during the Fire Festival. It collapsed at the Raid on Onigashima, where the invading Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance struck down the top officers one by one and defeated the visiting Big Mom, while Luffy finally beat Kaidou himself. Hurled down into a magma chamber far below and swallowed by a huge eruption, Kaidou's fate was left uncertain, and with his defeat announced he lost his Emperor status, leaving the whole crew's standing unknown.

At the very top stood Kaidou, the governor-general whose strength anchored the entire organization. Directly under him ranked the three All-Stars, nicknamed the Calamities: King the Conflagration, who could ignite and shape fire from his body; Queen the Plague, who engineered weaponized diseases; and Jack the Drought, whose rampages left destruction like a withered land in his wake.

Below the All-Stars came the elite Tobiroppo, a handful of the crew's fiercest second-rank fighters. Sasaki, Black Maria, Who's-Who, Ulti, and her brother Page One filled out this select circle, each a formidable combatant in their own right. Together with the layered ranks of Gifters, Pleasures, Waiters, and the artificial giants of the Numbers, they made the crew a small nation as much as a pirate band.
