Summary

The running gag of Miyamura passing himself off as Hori's cousin finally hooks Yuki, who grows so curious about this relative that she keeps dropping by the household hoping to run into him. Miyamura, meanwhile, stays totally blind to how much her behavior has shifted around him. Soon after, he shrugs off a warning that follows a sneeze and pays for it the next day, vanishing from school with a nasty fever.

Toru proposes that he and Hori check on their absent friend, though Yuki has to bow out for a club commitment. They find Miyamura burning up yet refusing to lie flat, convinced it will only clog his nose worse. While Hori takes over the kitchen to cook him porridge, Toru keeps the conversation going, fishing for details about the pair's arrangement and quietly doubting the claim that they are just classmates.

Key Events

Once the porridge is ready, Hori notices just how at ease the two boys have become with one another. After she finishes tending to Miyamura and steps out, Toru lingers and asks point blank whether there is anyone Miyamura likes. Miyamura half wonders if a confession is coming, which earns him a threat of a punch, and the two settle into ordinary guy talk. Toru remarks that people have started finding Miyamura more approachable lately, then mentions that Yuki had been anxious about him.

Notes

Before leaving, Hori jots down instructions for the patient and messages Yuki to confirm he is fine. The chapter closes on a small domestic beat: Miyamura's mother notices the leftover cake has vanished and asks who came by, and he answers simply that his friends visited. Titled Page 5, it is an early entry in the series that pairs Hori and Miyamura with Toru and Yuki.
