Rather than scold her, he offers to help her cook up a formula that could actually work. The mixture they produce is no killer at all but a tonic that speeds him up and loosens him into a fluid state, and the real payoff is his coaching: he pushes her to sharpen her communication so that one day she might fool him into drinking the genuine article.
