Japanese composer who took over the Dragon Ball franchise soundtrack for GT and its films after the series' original musician retired. Created a distinctive sound for the later Dragon Ball era.
Tokunaga stepped into a legacy position when he became the composer for Dragon Ball GT, taking the reins from series veteran Shunsuke Kikuchi. He crafted the complete soundtrack for the GT series as well as its theatrical film Dragon Ball: The Path to Power and the TV special Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy. His work provided the musical foundation for Goku's final major adventure in the original continuity.
A graduate of the Tokyo College Music Department, Tokunaga established himself as a musician and bassist in the Japanese hard rock band before moving into soundtrack composition. After his work on Dragon Ball GT concluded, he largely stepped away from media scoring, declining involvement in later projects like Dragon Ball Z Kai.
