Personality

He comes across as detached and icy, his loyalty reserved entirely for the growth and success of Kusagakure. Willing to wring every use out of the people around him, he saw the two Uzumaki women purely as a means to mend his village's wounded, and offered a grieving Karin no comfort when her mother died, pressing her at once to shoulder the same healing burden.

History

When two remnants of the Uzumaki clan arrived in Kusagakure, the village agreed to shelter them on the condition that the mother lend her healing gift to the sick and injured, and Zōsui was placed in charge of watching over her and her daughter. Once war broke out and the mother collapsed from healing far too many at once, he swiftly ordered the girl to take her mother's place. He is only ever glimpsed inside Karin's Infinite Tsukuyomi dream, where he lies dead, so his fate in the waking world stays unknown.
