Amber Bennett

A young Black woman of average height and build, Amber has warm brown eyes and black hair swept back at the front while kept full and voluminous behind, an expressive silhouette all her own. Her go-to outfit is a color-blocked sweatshirt splitting pink, coral, and mint across diagonal panels, worn with cropped light blue skinny jeans and tan sneakers marked by teal accents. She keeps her accessories spare: a slim vertical pendant on a minimalist necklace and a single stud earring.

Amber comes across as confident, quick-witted, and outspoken, a committed feminist with a real drive to help others, the homeless especially, and firm plans for her own future. Her interest in Mark first sparked after he faced down a bully named Todd, and she showed an assertive, faintly scheming side by pressuring Todd into handing over Mark's number. She is warm and friendly, but has no patience for being lied to.

Weeks into dating, Amber worked out that Mark was Invincible but held her tongue, hoping he would trust her enough to say it himself. When he finally confessed, she read it less as honesty than as a desperate bid to salvage the relationship, and she stayed hurt that he had left her and their friends in danger while playing hero. His constant vanishing and excuses wore her down until she ended things, though she returned to comfort him once she learned she was not the only one he had deceived.

In the following season Amber steadied, standing by Mark through the trauma left by Omni-Man and encouraging him to weigh his own feelings first. After Mark drew the attention of the Viltrumite warrior Anissa, who threatened Amber directly, she decided the two of them were living in fundamentally different worlds and closed out the romance, staying on good terms with him afterward.
