Argall

Argall carried the frame of an elder Viltrumite, muscled and close in stature to Thaedus, his head balding on top with white hair at the temples and a white mustache to match. When Thaedus struck him down, the blow cracked open the crown of his skull, and Thragg afterward preserved the broken remains as a standing reminder of what he owed the empire. As emperor he wore a heavy, fur-trimmed cloak of red and white stamped with the empire's gray sigil over loose gray trousers, an ensemble Thragg would adopt to honor the reign that came before him.

As sovereign of the Viltrum Empire, Argall governed with iron discipline, exalting order, strength, and efficiency over every other value and favoring measured, deliberate force rather than raw cruelty as he pushed the empire outward and drew it together. Social Darwinism sat at the core of his thinking; to him weakness endangered the whole realm, so he backed brutal responses, culling and even wiping out populations that would not bend to Viltrumite rule, and he dressed up conquest as the rightful ordering of lesser peoples. Successive generations wove that outlook into Viltrumite identity, tracing the empire's cohesion to him and honoring his wisdom above his sheer might, while he in turn leaned on trusted lieutenants like Thragg to hold his strict hierarchy in place.

Argall reigns as the very first emperor of the Viltrum Empire, and history recalls his long tenure as its Golden Age. He drove the empire's growth and forged Thragg into the mightiest Viltrumite who ever lived, all while enforcing merciless decrees, among them the order to thin the Relonian people by a quarter and to destroy any who kept fighting back. Thaedus became the earliest Viltrumite ever to turn traitor against the empire, and he ended his emperor by driving a blade through his skull. The murder sat unavenged for close to a thousand years until Thragg struck Thaedus down at the peak of the Viltrumite War. Argall himself is glimpsed only in flashback, his debut arriving during the show's fourth season.

Being Viltrumite, he wielded the whole arsenal of his race, from flight and staggering strength to near invulnerability and quick regeneration, kept youthful across millennia by his kind's crawling pace of aging.
