Bryant

Bryant carries himself as a rugged expedition type, dark brown hair paired with a thin, downy beard. He dresses for the field in a yellow jacket, a green shirt, khaki trousers, and a white scarf, and he is often seen with a cigarette. The telling detail is the scarab beetle inked onto the back of his right hand, a mark of his loyalty to Ka-Hor.

A single fixation drives Bryant: unearthing the mysteries of Ka-Hor, a goal he chases to the point of gambling his own life and those of the men he hires. That reckless certainty becomes his undoing, since he never grasps that the entity intends to seize his body, and raw terror is all that is left to him once the possession begins.

Little is known of Bryant beyond his worship of the old spirit Ka-Hor and his hunger to bring it back, though the record notes a daughter named Jane. Leading a crew of hired mercenaries and diggers, he tracks the tomb to a stretch of desert and ventures inside alone. There he finds the sarcophagus and uses the scarab on his hand to rouse its occupant, only for Ka-Hor to claim him as the living vessel it needs to walk free. As his crew flees in horror, the possessed Bryant floats toward the exit, but Invincible happens to streak past too near the ground and kicks up a sandstorm that buries the entrance. Sealed inside with the entity, Bryant slowly starves to death.

Long after, Jane reaches the same tomb with the help of her friend Riley and finds her father's withered remains. The two encounter Ka-Hor, who menaces them until he registers that both are women and admits he can only inhabit a living male host. Before they can leave, Invincible once again passes overhead and unwittingly seals them inside.
