Force Fist

A tall, powerfully built man with light skin, sandy-blond hair reaching his nape, and blue eyes, Force Fist showed off a well-defined chest and abdomen. He wore a dark blue leotard with elbow-length sleeves, a deep V at the front and legs cut just above the heels, topped by a red bandana that covered his forehead and scalp while leaving his hair exposed. Red fingerless gloves, red boots, a red sash, and a black strap around one thigh completed the outfit, and the Order's white winged skull sat on his chest.

Force Fist was a fanatical humanist extremist who despised industrial life. He and his wife were deluded enough to believe that mass murder and chaos would push humanity toward some better existence, and to prove the point they tried to release a flesh-eating bioweapon on a city. As the gas began eating at their own skin, neither of them flinched, accepting the agony as a mark of their conviction. Later, refitted with new skin and taken into the GDA, he was said to be rehabilitated, though he was killed before that supposed change could ever be tested.

More than two decades before Invincible's present, Force Fist and Knuckle Buster operated as the Order of the Freeing Fist, aiming to tear down an industrial society they saw as neglecting the human body. Their plan to release a deadly gas in a crowded city, meant to kill thousands and inspire copycat uprisings, was uncovered by GDA operative Cecil Stedman, who tracked their hideout to a new-age clothing shop. The couple fought him briefly, then triggered the gas the instant sirens closed in; it began dissolving their own flesh at once. The agency contained the attack, but not before seventeen civilians died and Stedman was left horribly disfigured.

Somehow reformed afterward by Radcliffe, the GDA's head, the pair signed on to support the agency's field agents. Though only human, Force Fist was a trained martial artist whose strength and agility, paired with his wife's, could knock the superhuman Komodo Dragon unconscious. During a raid by that Lizard League member, the Order leapt in to save both Radcliffe and a fully healed Stedman. Radcliffe insisted the two now fought on their side, but Stedman could not let their past go; he drew his pistol and shot Force Fist and Knuckle Buster dead.

Those killings shaped the commander Stedman became. Sentenced to three years in a supervillain prison, he seized control of the inmates and cut down the violence inside, impressing Radcliffe enough to be handed leadership of the GDA. The lesson he drew from the Order, never to trust appearances and always to keep safeguards ready, guided his later willingness to recruit reformed villains, weaponize monsters, and plant fail-safes even inside his strongest operatives.
