Appearance

Komodo Dragon reads as a slab of muscle, tall and heavy through the shoulders, chest, and arms. A smooth cowl caps his head and leaves the lower face bare, with a narrow visor of reddish lenses across the eyes and warm brown skin showing where it is exposed. His hands are broad and strong, his legs thick and firmly planted, built to hold ground and shove rather than dart around. He wears a one-piece suit in bright mustard yellow broken up by olive-brown panels at the chest, gloves, boots, and belt, marked at the center with a simple white Komodo head set in a crescent. The fit hugs his muscle yet looks reinforced around the torso, the gloves run partway up the forearms, the boots are solid, and a plain rectangular buckle keeps the whole look practical.

Personality

Force is the whole of his approach. Komodo Dragon prefers to batter straight through any obstacle, showing little mercy or hesitation and trusting his raw power to settle matters. There is a predatory streak to him, an enjoyment in overwhelming opponents he views as prey, and he treats every fight as a job to be finished fast and hard. He soaks up punishment and keeps coming, favoring immediate results over finesse or the long con, and when a plan falls apart he simply keeps swinging rather than pulling back.

That single-mindedness makes him both dangerous and easy to read. He has no patience for strategies that call for restraint or subtlety, which leaves him open to traps that turn his predictability against him. Leaders who dangle quick payoffs can steer him, and he is prone to over-committing to a brawl that might have been avoided.

History

Physically he is the Lizard League's strongest, able to tear a normal person apart with a single punch, and his durability is extreme; Shrinking Rae could not kill him by expanding inside his body and only broke her own bones trying, and Rex's explosives did little until one went off within him. He gained his abilities at some point and joined the League, and roughly three years before Nolan reached Earth he was rampaging through a Global Defense Agency base, unbothered by a young Cecil Stedman's gunfire, until Knuckle Buster and Force Fist put him down.

Under Queen Lizard he helped raid a facility for a serum before the Immortal, the Guardians of the Globe, and finally Omni-Man broke the attack. Later, acting for King Lizard, he joined the plan to turn humans into snakes, which the untested new Guardians narrowly stopped after heavy civilian losses, and he returned to action once Supreme Lizard took command, hitting a bio research lab only to be beaten again, moments before King Lizard reappeared and shot Supreme Lizard dead.

His last raid struck a military facility in Wyoming, where a tripped alarm served King Lizard's scheme to hold the country's nuclear arsenal hostage. When Rex Splode, Dupli-Kate, and Shrinking Rae stormed in, Komodo Dragon killed off Dupli-Kate's copies and smashed her final two together, then swallowed Shrinking Rae, whose attempt to grow inside him failed against his durability. After Rex killed Iguana, Komodo bit off his hand to stop another explosive, but the hand detonated within him, tearing off his head and ending him; a battered Shrinking Rae later crawled free of the corpse.
