A male Viltrumite, Kregg wears black hair and a neat pencil mustache. His two eyes differ: the left stays his natural blue while the right is a red mechanical replacement, installed after the Scourge Virus cost him the original. On duty he wears the grey-and-white uniform standard to his people. Once relocated to Earth he masks the artificial eye under a black patch and adopts a rough, tough-guy human look.

Kregg carries himself as a measured officer instead of a savage. Unlike overtly sadistic empire figures like Conquest, he favors discipline, pressure, and efficiency, and he will bargain: he tries to convince Mark that letting Earth be conquered is the wiser choice, warning that resistance only means far heavier casualties. Calm as it sounds, the offer is still a threat, obey or be massacred, though he notably declines to sneer at Mark's human background even as he counts such ties as weakness to be shed.

Toward his own race he is rigidly devoted to Viltrumite doctrine and its honor codes, insisting even traitors be restored to full strength before they are executed. He grants that Nolan is one of the empire's finest warriors and offers him a path to prove renewed loyalty, while having zero patience for what he judges betrayal or softness. Usually composed, he can still tip into despair, as over the Scourge Virus, or into rage, as when the loss of Viltrum drove him to strike at Space Racer, Tech Jacket, and Allen while calling for the deaths of Mark and Nolan, before he steadied himself. Resettled on Earth, he shows a womanizing flair for wooing human women in service of saving his species.

As a Viltrumite general standing near the very top of the empire's chain of command, Kregg has pushed its wars of conquest across the stars for millennia. He turns up first in a Season 1 flashback before his true debut in Season 2. At the Attack on Talescria he fought Thaedus and then Nolan and lost both bouts, taking serious wounds. The Scourge Virus later robbed him of his right eye; his regeneration, strong enough to carry him through a plague that killed untold Viltrumites, still could not regrow it, and a red cybernetic implant took its place.

Across the Viltrumite War he met Thaedus again, worsening the veteran's back injury before being beaten once more and having an arm snapped, and Battle Beast flattened him just as fast; by many reckonings, Thaedus among them, he sits among the frailer members of his kind despite his rank. With Viltrum destroyed, Kregg joined the Great Resurgence, blending into human society on Earth to secure mates and refill the empire's ranks. Forbidden to fly so as not to blow his cover, he took up an eyepatch and a motorcycle and passed convincingly for an average man, becoming the first of the thirty-six resettled Viltrumites to land a mate.
