Louise

Louise has a medium brown complexion and wears her long, dark brown hair swept to one side in a ponytail held by a yellow band. Triangular yellow earrings frame her face. For clothing she favors a peach-toned top beneath a lavender-pink cardigan, finished with black trousers and matching shoes.

Louise shows herself to be caring and quietly determined. She stands up for Atom Eve when a construction worker scolds her over building codes, and she has spent years pushing the city to address a neglected lot near her home. Her focus stays on protecting her daughter and improving the community around them.

Louise and her daughter live through the Destruction of Chicago, an event that flattens their apartment building and leaves the two sheltering in a school gymnasium for a long stretch. In the city, they watch Atom Eve restore part of their old apartment, and Louise defends the hero when a worker berates her for ignoring code. She then points out a run-down patch of land she had been asking officials to fix for more than six years. Eve reshapes it with her abilities into a community park complete with a playground, where mother and daughter happily spend time.

What none of them realize is that the ground beneath the site is unstable, which is exactly why the city never cleared it. The new park soon collapses into the earth, hurting several people, Louise and her daughter among them. Although no one dies, photos of the pair appear in the newspaper afterward, and a guilt-stricken Eve learns of the harm she caused. The accident pushes Eve to reconsider her choices and to enroll in architecture courses so she can build safely and prevent a repeat. What became of Louise and her daughter after the collapse, and how they now regard Eve, remains unknown.
