Lucan

Lucan is a towering, dark-skinned Viltrumite with a shaved head and the thick mustache typical of his people. His frame reads more like a veteran strongman than a chiseled warrior, broad and heavy through the chest with a noticeable gut and softer definition than many of his peers. Even so, his bulk radiates raw power and stubborn endurance. During his years serving the Empire he wore the standard white Viltrumite uniform that marked his allegiance to conquest. After relocating to Earth, he adopts the look of an ordinary businessman, favoring a grey suit paired with a dark blue tie.

Fiercely devoted to the Empire, Lucan lives by the creed that strength decides everything. His self-assurance tips easily into arrogance, rooted in the conviction that Viltrumites tower over all other beings. He regards weaker races with open contempt and reserves special disdain for hybrids such as Mark Grayson and Oliver, whom he dismisses as an insect. Yet his cruelty is not aimless. It flows from strict adherence to Viltrumite doctrine rather than random violence.

When he first sizes up Invincible, Lucan does not simply write him off. He offers the young hero a chance to prove his worth in what appears to be a longstanding tradition, revealing an almost ritual streak of fairness beneath the brutality. He rarely bothers with words, letting his presence do the talking, and when he does speak it comes out clipped, cold, and edged with scorn, though he occasionally trades barbs, as he does while fighting Allen. For all his bluntness he is far from stupid. In combat he reads his opponents and pounces on their emotional weak points, and he treats betrayal as a crime answerable only by death.

As a full-blooded Viltrumite, Lucan wields the complete arsenal of his species, sharpened further by centuries of warfare. His biology slows his aging to a crawl, granting a lifespan measured in millennia while keeping him at peak condition, and his dominant genetics ensure any offspring inherit overwhelmingly Viltrumite traits. He flies at extreme speeds thanks to an inner-ear balancing system, crosses planetary distances in minutes, and survives unprotected in the vacuum of space through immense lung capacity and self-sustenance. His strength was on full display when he floored Mark with a single slap and pinned him beneath one finger, and again when he and his comrades overpowered Allen the Alien with ease.

His durability lets him shrug off most blows, though Nolan managed to bloody his face and slice open his abdomen in their brutal exchange, a wound Lucan recovered from quickly enough to ambush Nolan moments later. Rounding out the package are heightened senses, tireless stamina, and a potent healing factor that mends everything from broken bones to lost teeth. Beyond his physical gifts, Lucan is a disciplined master combatant who blends overwhelming force with tactical cunning, and a skilled manipulator whose charisma let him pass as an everyday human, deceiving even the mate he chose. Like all of his kind, he remains vulnerable to piercing high-frequency sound, to foes who match his own power, and to the Viltrumite-derived Scourge Virus.
