Shrapnel

Much of Shrapnel's body is fitted with machinery, most obviously her left arm, which is entirely artificial and sheathed in a tan glove that leaves the fingertips bare. Her other arm mirrors it beneath a matching glove. Blue and white markings frame one eye and streak back through her hair, with a set of thin lines running along each cheek. Her outfit is plain: a yellow vest trimmed in pale brown, ordinary trousers, and a belt carrying twin pockets plus a holstered sidearm.

Little is spelled out about her temperament, though she reads as a determined, combat-ready hero who threw herself into the fight against the Evil Invincibles. Her bond with fellow hero Burly ran deep enough that he broke down over her body once the battle was done.

Where she came from and what she was capable of were never revealed. When the original Guardians of the Globe were slaughtered by Omni-Man, Shrapnel was among the hopefuls who auditioned for the replacement lineup, but Robot declined to pick her, and she can be glimpsed chatting with Two Punch Man during the tryouts. She resurfaced when the Evil Invincibles descended during the Invincible War, dying in that chaos at the hands of one of them, most likely Hoodvincible. Afterward her teammate Burly was seen weeping as he cradled her lifeless body.
