Shrinking Rae

Out of costume, Rachel is an athletic woman with tanned skin, green eyes, and brown hair, and she wears glasses. Her hero look is a snug green bodysuit accented in matching green tones and marked by a bold yellow R over the chest. The suit leaves an opening so her hair spills out at the crown, and she keeps the glasses on even in the middle of a fight.

Rae is a steadfast team player who plunges into a battle even when the numbers are stacked against her. Repeated injuries and a growing bitterness over how the Global Defense Agency uses heroes as disposable instruments eventually wear her down, pushing her to step back from the Guardians and search for meaning beyond the costume.

Rae's core power is near-instant size reduction, letting her drop to the scale of a doll, a small child, or even a bug while holding onto her ordinary human strength, a combination that makes her dangerous in both combat and covert work. She cannot expand past her natural height, and using a sudden return to full size as a weapon has limits, since when she tried to burst Komodo Dragon open from the inside, he slowed her growth long enough for his muscles to nearly crush her. The same shrinking trick makes her a superb escape artist, slipping free of restraints and cramped spaces, and it suits her for stealth, infiltration, and gathering intelligence unseen. She rounds this out with solid hand-to-hand training that pairs neatly with her surprise shifts in scale.
