Slaying Mantis

Slaying Mantis fights inside a bulky, menacing battlesuit modeled on a praying mantis. Colored mostly green and white, the armor leans hard into its insect inspiration through jagged, angular lines that echo the shape of the predatory bug.

Signing on with the Order marks him as comfortable with crime and eager to stand alongside heavyweight villains in pursuit of power or profit. He has also been seen slashing at ordinary people for no clear reason, a streak that hints at genuine cruelty.

He first appears among the Order at the gathering where Machine Head seizes leadership of the group. As Machine Head rants and fields suggestions, Slaying Mantis raises his hand, and the new boss recognizes him by name before cursing him out. In the montage tracing the wreckage left by the Invincible War, he is shown carving up both civilians and the scenery until Business Baby and Big Mildew step in, and when Big Mildew hurls a car at him, he splits it cleanly in two. The outcome of that clash goes unseen, though he presumably lost and withdrew. He later stands with the Order again when Titan and Mr. Liu are welcomed back into its ranks. His suit lends him notable agility, and the mantis blades mounted on its arms slice through even metal with ease.
