Tether Tyrant

Broad-shouldered and heavily built, Tether Tyrant carries thick, powerful arms and a squared-off jaw that give him a bruiser's presence. A fitted long-sleeved shirt clings to his frame beneath his signature gear.

That gear is a living chestplate marked by a large round core at its center, from which numerous tendrils can extend. He rounds out the look with rugged belted trousers, heavy black gloves, combat-ready black footwear, and a plain beanie.

What drives him is survival rather than villainy. Poverty pushed him into a criminal life, and he shares a home with Magmaniac while repeatedly trying to go straight before circumstances drag him back. His crimes chase a paycheck, not power or cruelty, and his motives stay rooted in simple need.

Called in by Isotope to fight on Machine Head's behalf, Tether Tyrant spent much of that brawl grappling Invincible, slamming him into walls and pinning him so Kursk could shock him, until an enraged Invincible hurled him aside and crushed both him and Kursk together. He kept swinging, tossing Titan around while Battle Beast handled Invincible, but once the Guardians of the Globe joined the fray he was worn down, eventually choked into unconsciousness by Shrinking Rae after Rex Splode cornered him.

Later he and Magmaniac turned to bank jobs. A failed heist against Bulletproof sent them hiding in a trash can, after which the pair swore off villainy and took fast-food work to fight rising rent and debt. That effort collapsed when Magmaniac scorched the food and Tether Tyrant leapt to his defense, getting them both fired. Desperate, they robbed one final bank and were beaten and jailed by Invincible and Kid Omni-Man. He is later glimpsed in his cell as Multi-Paul's clones bleed nearby.

His powers stem from bonding with the organism inside his armor, which heightened its gifts. The tendrils stretch and retract at will, serving as extra limbs to move and grip, and he wields enough strength to lift a car as a shield while shrugging off blows from far heavier hitters.
