Making the World a Better Place

Still reeling from the Invincible War and the brutal clashes with Conquest and Angstrom, Mark moves through battles like joyless chores, his usual banter gone. His younger brother Oliver, now suited up as Kid Omni-Man, longs to just be a normal teenager, and Debbie urges Mark to rest, but he insists heroes cannot take time off. At the GDA, Cecil rebuilds Earth's defenses, installing the veteran Brit as leader of the Guardians and reactivating the Teen Team.

A tip lures Mark into a fight with Dinosaurus, a hulking, brilliant creature who preaches that culling humanity is necessary for the planet's survival. Mark wins easily, but the beast reverts to a terrified human scientist with no control over his monstrous side, and a bloodlust-gripped Mark barely stops himself from executing the man. Seeking normalcy, Mark endures a hostile dinner with Eve's parents, where Adam blames him for the war's deaths and needles Eve cruelly, deepening Mark's guilt. Meanwhile the parasitic Sequids return through their host Rus Livingston, and an alien warrior named Universa arrives hunting the planet's energy.

Universa attacks a power plant to save her dying world, but Mark and a struggling Eve, whose atomic powers begin to fail, eventually overpower her. Cecil then mobilizes Mark and the Guardians against the Sequid swarm, trapping the infected zone under a containment dome while heroes pry parasites from their hosts. As the dome's integrity collapses to nearly nothing and Bulletproof races a disruptor toward him, Mark refuses to wait; crushed by guilt and Adam's words, he drives a killing blow through Rus Livingston's head, severing the hive mind and ending the invasion at a terrible personal cost. In the aftermath, Conquest wakes from his coma in a GDA bunker, smashes free, and rockets off Earth, leaving Cecil and Donald to realize their decision to keep him alive was a catastrophic mistake.

Brit becomes the new leader of the Guardians of the Globe, and the Teen Team returns to active service. Dinosaurus debuts as Mark's newest nemesis, and the returning Sequids launch a fresh invasion led by Rus Livingston. Debbie agrees to move in with Paul.

Mark abandons his no-kill rule and slays Rus Livingston to stop the Sequids, ending their threat but leaving him traumatized. Conquest awakens, breaks out of GDA custody, and escapes into space, foreshadowing dire consequences.

The title draws on a Cecil Stedman quote from the comics and mirrors Dinosaurus's warped goal of improving Earth. It was originally titled You Gave Me No Choice, but the team began pulling episode names from unrelated issues to avoid plot leaks. This chapter concludes the Sequid threat for good.

The story takes place roughly two weeks after the Invincible War and the Advent of Conquest, and it leans noticeably darker than earlier seasons as Mark begins taking lethal action. Robot is now voiced by Ross Marquand, taking over from Zachary Quinto.
