History
At the height of the Beastman regime, Jirid serves under Cytomander of the Four Supreme Generals, flying into battle at his commander's side. The empire's collapse eventually lands him in Lincarne prison, and he resurfaces in the third act of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as a fellow convict of Simon, who is being held there under a death sentence. A confrontation with the fallen hero ends his life: Simon and Viral close on him from opposite sides and finish him with a simultaneous blow.
Episode 27 grants him one last mention. As Simon delivers his speech about creating heaven, Jirid is counted among those whose dreams Simon carries to power the double helix boring its way toward tomorrow.
Abilities
As one of Cytomander's aerial soldiers, Jirid fights on the wing, a rarity among the empire's forces. Even stripped of rank and locked away, he remains dangerous enough that stopping him takes Simon and Viral working in concert.
