Awaking III Leaves

Awaking III Leaves is a close-range Stand featured in JoJolion, the eighth part of the series, and it answers to Mitsuba Higashikata. Its form suggests a cloaked, hooded traveler whose face stays concealed while both eyes remain visible, and whose legs are left bare below the robe.

Arrow motifs cover nearly the whole figure, arranged in circular runs that sweep from the head down to the trailing tassels at the hem, with more of them pointing downward across the back. Each knee carries a stacked pair of leaves beside jointed, machine-like fittings, and further arrows and foliage mark the ankles, capped by one broad arrow aimed toward the toes.

The Stand commands vector space by generating arrows that Mitsuba can point in any chosen direction. Energy and matter are pushed along whatever heading the arrows indicate, which lets her cancel out intruding substances anywhere inside a building, inside her own body, or at any spot the arrows mark. Applied to a person, the power drives foreign material out of them, following the path set by the largest arrow.

When several arrows enclose a region, the trapped energy escapes by the shortest available route across that boundary. Mitsuba can also compound a single force by lining up arrows along one axis, so stacking three of them on an elevator's walls, for instance, multiplies its acceleration threefold.

Mitsuba Higashikata is the sole wielder. She turns the arrows to defense by shielding both herself and Yasuho Hirose, and to offense by tearing open Wu Tomoki's head, then uses the same expelling effect to flush Wu's invading particles out of her own body. Later she reattaches fingertips that Satoru Akefu's power had severed and steers a pot of scalding water clear of herself, showing how flexibly the direction-based ability adapts to a crisis.
