Mansaku Nijimura

In his mutated state he is a squat, bloated creature covered in coarse, blistered green skin, his mismatched eyes set above a flattened nose and beak-like lips, with no ears and a patchy mohawk crowning his head. He goes about in a sleeveless shirt and shorts. An old photograph shows the man he once was: dark-haired, ruggedly built, and wearing a friendly look.

Reduced to little more than an animal, he cannot communicate in any real way, and Keicho believes he no longer recognizes his own children or grasps his surroundings. For a decade the sons were baffled by his compulsion to empty a chest in his room and then weep, until Josuke pieces together the torn scraps inside and reveals he had been hunting for a photograph of himself with his young family. In life, before the mutation, he loved that family, yet grief over his wife's death and crushing money troubles turned him abusive, and though he took DIO's work to keep the household afloat, he went on beating his children whenever the strain mounted.

Recruited by DIO during his hunt for a Stand user who could remake reality, Nijimura is thought to have once possessed a Stand of his own. Merged now with vampiric cells, he is all but immortal, healing instantly, an arm even regrowing the moment it is torn away, though his flesh is oddly fragile: Crazy Diamond knocks his arm clean off with an accidental punch. His decline began with his wife's death and the family's slide into poverty, after which money and jewels started arriving by mail in exchange for the soul he had sold to DIO. Distrusting him, DIO planted a fragment of his undead body inside the man, and when Jotaro brought DIO down, that seed burst, slowly twisting Nijimura into his mindless, monstrous shape.

His sons are left to care for the creature. Keicho, unable to fathom the endless searching through the chest, beats his mutated father until Josuke restores the shredded photograph and calms him. Later Okuyasu keeps him close as the group discusses Yoshikage Kira, and near the story's close Okuyasu brings him to Tonio Trussardi's restaurant hoping Pearl Jam might cure him. The meal only peels away a layer of skin, but Nijimura seems content all the same, and he takes to a new companion in Stray Cat.
