Chronostasis

Character

Chronostasis belongs to Hari Kurono, whose hair doubles as a clock. Two bladed strands, one standing for minutes and one for hours, shoot outward in a straight line and drag down whoever they cut. The catch is that Kurono has to hold perfectly still before he can fire them at anyone.

Overview

Classified as a Mutant Quirk of close reach, Chronostasis reshapes its owner's hair into arrow-tipped strands. Those strands lengthen on command and travel along a straight path, cutting whatever stands in the way. Anyone struck finds their own tempo dragging behind everyone else's.

The Quirk debuts in Chapter 153 of the manga and in Episode 75 of the anime.

Mechanics

Two strands carry the effect. The one riding above Kurono's forehead serves as the Minute Hand, while the one at the nape of his neck serves as the Hour Hand. How long a victim stays sluggish depends on which of the two lands, since each arrow carries the weight of the time unit it represents.

A firm restriction governs all of it. The strands only extend while Kurono keeps his body motionless, which leaves him unable to reposition and attack at the same moment.

Notable Users
