Trap Tengu is the Hero Association's B-Class hero ranked 70th, a specialist who fights not with raw power but with an arsenal of snares. Costumed after the folkloric tengu, he was called up to help capture a Scaledon alive for medical study.
Trap Tengu builds his entire look around the mythological creature he is named for. He dons a bird-faced plague doctor's mask, tops it with a kabuki wig, and wears the traditional garb of a yamabushi complete with a tokin headpiece and geta on his feet. Slung on his back is an oibako, a wooden pack in which he stows his many traps.
Serious and careful by nature, Trap Tengu affords even the feeblest monster his full attention. He also keeps the bigger picture in mind, weighing the good of both people and medicine, and he holds that capturing Scaledon is essential to the advancement of medical science.
The Hero Association enlists Trap Tengu together with Pink Hornet, Wild Horn, Smell Master, and Saitama for the task of taking a Scaledon alive so it can serve medical research. Once the group reaches the woods, Wild Horn instructs Tengu to set his snares to catch the beast. The monster does drop into a trap, but it tears loose and swallows the heroes whole, and only Saitama's punch frees Tengu and the rest. Fitting his rank, he is a competent fighter yet not a strong one by B-Class measures, and his true skill lies in trapping. His signature Triple Trap deploys a reinforced net woven from wire rope, first shown against Scaledon, drawn from the large collection of devices he carries.
