Summary

Set back when Saitama still had hair and was working toward becoming a hero, the chapter finds him rewarded with a year's worth of candy after rescuing an old woman from a mysterious being. He reflects that he has downed more than ten such creatures since taking up heroism as a hobby, not for the thanks but because it suits him and lets him drive his body to its limits. By his three-hundredth day of training, a sharp stinging pain has begun to plague him.

Out on his daily run he now moves at blistering speed, noting how the regimen has sharpened his fitness, and he proves it by snatching a child from the path of a speeding car and caving in its hood before lecturing the kid on road safety as onlookers marvel.

Key Events

A Mysterious Being appears, bragging about its strength and smashing a vehicle with rapid blows. It turns out to be the Tiger-level monster Personification Of A Light Pull Cord, who declares himself a God-level threat and grumbles about being stuck attacking objects rather than people. When Saitama moves in, the pain distracts him, and the monster hurls him through a truck and into a wall. Battered and unsure, Saitama resolves to keep going, but before he can rejoin the fight the creature hits him with its Pull Cord Rush and a tooth is knocked loose.

Notes

This extra ran with Volume 2, released December 4, 2012, across fourteen pages, with Himawari and Saitama on the cover. With the decaying tooth that had been the source of his stinging pain finally gone, Saitama feels renewed and defeats the monster. The story then returns to the present, where he steps out of the bathroom after brushing and muses that keeping his teeth healthy is what wards off decay.
