The Power of Boros

Convinced that his blows have wounded Saitama, Boros brags about his regeneration, describing how the brutal conditions of his homeworld forged a body that heals endlessly and predicting that his opponent will eventually collapse from exhaustion. Saitama flatly tells him to be quiet and asks whether he is finished, which enrages the warlord. Boros then triggers his Meteoric Burst, battering Saitama and finishing with a kick so forceful it launches the hero clear to the Moon.

Boros describes the technique as a last resort built to end a fight fast, admitting Saitama has pushed him into it. Standing on the lunar surface and grasping that his foe is fully committed, Saitama resolves to fight with a bit more effort. He springs off the Moon and back to the vessel, the impact rocking the ship without sinking it. Boros pours out a flurry of strikes that accomplish nothing, then eats a counterpunch followed by Consecutive Normal Punches that shred him. He regenerates and gambles everything on Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, a colossal blast meant to erase Saitama and scour the planet. Saitama replies with a killer move, Serious Punch, which swallows the attack whole and strikes the fatal blow.

Broken but lucid, Boros hears Saitama call him tremendously strong. He accepts that the hero never once fought at his limit and that the gulf between them is absolute. Saitama walks off, and Boros slips away.

Boros deploys Meteoric Burst and hurls Saitama all the way to the Moon. Saitama returns and decides to raise his effort. Consecutive Normal Punches tear Boros apart before his final Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon. Saitama's Serious Punch overpowers that attack and ends the alien's life, closing the invasion's central duel.

Part of Volume 7 and the Alien Conquerors Arc, this chapter adapts into Episode 12 and lists Saitama as its cover character. The Viz release retitles it Boros's True Strength. It corresponds to Chapter 40 of the webcomic and was published in two parts across May and July of 2014.
