Summary

Mission 69 of Tatsuya Endo's SPY x FAMILY arrived on October 17, 2022, a 17-page chapter that launches the Bus Hijacking Arc in Volume 11.

Intelligence reaches the head of the State Security Service that survivors of the extremist Red Circus are active again, with unverified word placing their leader, Billy Squire, at the head of a cell in Berlint. Meanwhile, Eden Academy's entire first year rolls toward the Berlint Museum in a four-bus convoy for a cultural outing, escort cars front and rear. Cecile Hall's students buzz with excitement, apart from an indifferent Damian, whom Wald Hall's Bill Watkins goads into a contest over which class can name more museum dinosaurs.

Anya spends the ride scheming. Inspired by how Loid recently won over Gerald Gorey, she imagines a childish reenactment and opens by bouncing a crumpled paper ball off Damian's head, complete with a taunting face. He chucks it straight back. Privately, Damian wonders if she is still sore that he never repaid her for the handkerchief and reaches for the treats he bought her, but Ewen and Emile spot the stash and he lets them devour it rather than confess its purpose. George's outstretched hand earns only a snarl. When Becky asks what snacks Anya packed, she produces peanuts plus a single piece of Bond's kibble, which she offers Damian free of charge, prompting a threat to hurl her off the bus while the Wald Hall kids marvel at Cecile Hall's rowdiness.

At the museum, two buses in the convoy, Anya's among them, glide past the entrance. The confused dorm tutor watches helplessly as the vehicles break formation, a development radioed to Mr. Green at the caravan's tail. At a stop, Billy Squire climbs aboard with a female accomplice, tasers the tutor unconscious before he can object, and has him bound as the bus rolls on. A radio check with his subordinate Bruce confirms the second bus fell just as cleanly. Alerted that Mr. Green's car is closing in, Billy lets it approach, walks to the rear door, and fires a shotgun blast into a front tire, sending the escort into a tree. When a girl screams, his leveled gun silences her. He then introduces his organization as the Red Circus, promising the terrified children survival in exchange for obedience.

Two of the four field trip buses are diverted from the Berlint Museum; Billy Squire boards Anya's bus, incapacitates dorm tutor Thomas Austin with a taser, and confirms the parallel hijacking led by Bruce.

Billy destroys Mr. Green's pursuing car with a shotgun blast to the tire, then announces the Red Circus to the captive students, opening the hostage crisis.
