Overview
Classified as a Paramecia, this fruit lets whoever eats it summon and shape candy in nearly endless quantity, earning the title of Candy Human. The Japanese name copies the lapping sound of licking a sweet, and the VIZ and Funimation versions render it as the Lick-Lick Fruit, a nod to how one eats candy. Its owner is Charlotte Perospero, eldest son of the Big Mom Pirates' captain.
The power surfaced when Perospero was first revealed to have eaten it and threatened to coat Caesar Clown in candy, with a full demonstration following soon after.
Mechanics
The candy comes in seemingly unlimited volume and obeys its maker completely, even moving on its own like clockwork machinery to form escalators or prosthetic limbs, and all of it stays edible. Once set hard, the substance turns shockingly tough, strong enough to pin the enhanced Vinsmoke children, lock down an entire walking castle, deflect cannon shells, and absorb a Gear 3 blow from Luffy. Seawater leaves it untouched, so Perospero can ride a floating mass of it across the ocean.
The weaknesses are clear. Conjured candy melts away after a while, and concentrated heat or force will shatter it, as Sanji's flaming kicks and Luffy's Red Hawk both proved. Most critically, if the user is killed or badly enough hurt, every piece of candy he has made dissolves at once. Standard Devil Fruit frailties apply on top of that. His arsenal includes the smothering Candy Man, the transporting Candy Escalator, the binding Candy Wave, the defensive Candy Wall and Candy Armor, the trapping Candy Maiden, the seafaring Ame Umiushi, and the raining arrows of Candy Shower.
