Green, Green Grass of Home

Belonging to the enigmatic Green Baby, Green, Green Grass of Home ranks as a Close-Range Stand seen in Stone Ocean. The Green Baby itself is a strange creature born from the soul housed in DIO's Bone, which turns out to be a piece of Jonathan Joestar's remains that Dio once stole. The Stand appears as a humanoid clad in a dark, tribal-looking bodysuit and a four-eyed mask, with a pair of turbine-shaped devices fixed to the sides of its head and long spikes rising from its crown. In the colored manga it is deep blue with gleaming metallic segments.

The Stand guards its infant master through a bizarre spatial power modeled on Zeno's paradox. Past a certain unmarked boundary, anything approaching the Green Baby, whether a person or an object, shrinks in exact proportion to how near it comes: halving the remaining distance halves one's size, so the child can never truly be reached. Step away and the shrinking reverses, restoring normal proportions. Should someone press close to the vanishing point, the Stand materializes and strikes, either forcing the dwindling victim onto the Baby to erase them as they shrink toward nothing, or simply crushing them with its now-gigantic frame. If the Baby grows curious and reaches out to touch or pick up whatever has shrunk, it instantly springs back to full size.

The Green Baby is the only wielder of this Stand, which acts on its own to keep the child safe. In the manga it originally had no name at all, and the Stand went unlabeled until the JOJOVELLER artbook finally christened it Green, Green Grass of Home.
