Made in Heaven

Character

Made in Heaven is the final Stand of Enrico Pucci in Stone Ocean, the last link in a chain that began with Whitesnake and passed through C-MOON. DIO regarded it as the ultimate Stand, the instrument for reaching what he called heaven. It accelerates time itself toward the collapse and rebirth of the entire universe.

Overview

This is the crowning transformation of Pucci's Stand line, born from a plan laid out in DIO's diary. Classed as a close-range and evolved Stand, it registers infinite speed on its stat chart because it no longer plays by the ordinary rules of movement.

Its form is strange even by the standards of the series: a lean, masculine humanoid grafted at the waist onto the front half of a horse, its truncated body linked by an arcing cable. The horse wears blinders and reins gripped by the humanoid, whose head carries a clock face where eyes would sit, ringed by speedometers built into its body. A crown of thorns crowns it, an echo of Pucci's Catholic faith.

Mechanics

The Stand's core act is to quicken the passage of time everywhere by seizing control of the gravity binding the earth, the moon, and seemingly the whole cosmos, a nod to relativity. Living things are spared the acceleration, only Pucci and, in effect, God stay in step with the true flow. Everyone else keeps perceiving time at its old pace while the world races ahead, which turns any hazard into a death trap: fires spread, corpses rot in seconds, and the sun wheels overhead. Pucci himself gains reactions so sharp he outpaces even Star Platinum, though his human frailties remain, so exhaustion and bad air still endanger him.

Its true purpose lies past mere speed. As time keeps compounding, reality reaches a vanishing point where the current universe is wiped away and a fresh one begins, replaying every event according to fate. Survivors are reinstated at a moment Pucci chooses, the dead swapped for lookalikes stripped of their souls. In this remade world people carry a buried memory of everything that has already happened to them, so they instinctively sense their destiny even if they cannot escape it. Pucci believes this foreknowledge, and the resolve it breeds, would erase human despair.
