Silver Chariot

The Stand takes the shape of a slender robotic knight sheathed in silver medieval plate and armed with a basket-hilted foil. Despite its thin frame it bears heavy armor spiked at the shoulders and elbows, topped by a striking helm that carries a gem on the brow and downward guards shielding the mouth and cheeks. Its blade can be set aside when a task needs both hands. During Vento Aureo, after Polnareff loses his own limbs, the matching parts of the Stand are swapped for metal spike-like extensions. It is usually shown in bright polished silver, though the OVA dresses it in dull grey trimmed with gold.

Like the majority of Stands it holds no will or character and obeys Polnareff without protest, yet it shows a sharp aptitude for learning, since he seldom issues explicit commands. Its battle cry rings out as "Hora Hora Hora," and back when Polnareff was a boy it tended to shout "Pami." Built for combat above all, it embodies the tarot's Chariot, an emblem of invasion and triumph.

Silver Chariot is a warrior Stand devoted to close-quarters dueling with its rapier, and nearly all its gifts serve fighting while offering little elsewhere. It is astonishingly nimble, hammering enemies with flurries of slashes and thrusts before they can respond and using that same quickness to parry and turn aside blows. It normally stays close to Polnareff but can range several meters out to attack, and its glaring flaw is that it cannot perceive anything hidden from its user, leaving it weak whenever Polnareff loses sight of a threat.

Its speed is its crowning trait, letting it seem to occupy several spots at once and spawn illusory afterimages by outrunning the eye, quick enough to skewer falling coins and flames in alternation, swat away point-blank gunfire, keep pace with the light-speed Hanged Man, chase down the Sun's lasers, and trade blows with Star Platinum's barrage. Its strength is considerable as well, cleaving through solid rock and hoisting Polnareff to fling at Avdol, though a wounded Chariot can barely drag its user along. That velocity is matched by exacting control, so Polnareff fights like a seasoned fencer, splitting a bullet or spearing aligned coins and fire in one stroke.

The heavy silver suit is its oddest feature: it drags down the Stand's pace but spares Polnareff the injuries the armor takes while it is worn, and it can shrug off intense heat without melting. The cost of donning it is that Polnareff cannot see through the Stand's eyes. He can strip the armor away to unlock even greater speed, the kind that trails afterimages, at the price of leaving the Stand far more open to attack. Its lone ranged option is a hidden move that hurls the rapier with great force and accuracy, able to bounce off objects and drive clean through a body, though since only one blade can be manifested Polnareff must recover the weapon before striking again.

Silver Chariot is the Stand of Jean Pierre Polnareff, who spent years honing its swordsmanship. In Vento Aureo it is pierced by the Arrow and evolves into Chariot Requiem. Its name draws on the tarot card The Chariot, standing for invasion and victory, and its head has been likened to the mask worn by Jagi in Fist of the North Star.
