Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the Stand belonging to Tamaki Damo in JoJolion, sorted among the close-range types, and it draws its name from a Can song. At first it registers only as a scattering of watery hands that press faint prints onto whatever Damo makes contact with, marks that pass from surface to person like a spreading contagion.

When Damo squares off alone against Norisuke IV and Josuke, more of the Stand comes into view. It carries a loosely humanoid head crowned by drooping jester horns reminiscent of King Nothing, with a hand-shaped mark stamped on its face. Below the shoulders it dissolves into a swaying curtain of hand-tipped tentacles, closer to a jellyfish than a body, studded with nut-like beads, several nicked to form the shape of a C. Colored pages give the core body green with yellow trim and a vivid red palm on the face, while the tentacles stay white.

The Stand's defining power is to soften the tissue of anything alive, coaxing solid flesh toward a liquid, elastic state. Damo and Vitamin C first deposit those nearly invisible prints, and with so many hands at work a whole room can end up coated in them; the residue has a faintly squishy feel that a careful person might catch. Anyone who touches a print begins to give way, and even Stands are not exempt. Bodies gradually slump into a pooling mass, at which point Damo can push objects straight into a victim or carve through them, famously slicing off limbs and organs with a thousand-yen note. A softened target loses all coherence under any impact, so they can neither move nor fight, left helpless while he does as he pleases.

Damo can also dial the pace of the effect. Joshu melted only slowly over a long stretch, whereas Hato collapsed into liquid almost the instant she was struck. Vitamin C is fearsome in cramped, narrow surroundings precisely because that softening strips everyone around him of any defense.

The Stand's glaring flaw is its tiny reach, which seems bound to one sealed space such as a cabin on a small boat or the inside of a house. Should a softened person get clear of that zone, the effect lifts from them at once. The short range also leaves Damo himself open, since anything striking from a distance can reach him before the softening ever comes into play.

Tamaki Damo is the sole wielder of Vitamin C, turning it against members of the Higashikata household during JoJolion.
