Walking Heart

Character

Walking Heart is the Stand wielded by Hato Higashikata across the events of JoJolion. Classified as a close-range type, it reveals almost none of its inner workings, yet the single trick it does grant turns its owner into a startlingly dangerous close-quarters fighter.

Overview

The Stand presents as a slender feminine figure assembled almost wholly from stiff, threadlike filaments. Where a face would sit, only cold lens-shaped eyes stare out, since it carries neither nose nor mouth beneath its wiry mane. Heart motifs dominate its design: a large one rides its torso, flanked by a pair of smaller ones, while a matching heart forms the collar at its throat and another is set into the ridged belt at its waist. Colorized printings render the whole form in red with yellow eyes.

Mechanics

Very little of the Stand's overall potential has ever been demonstrated. Although it manifests a full body, its capability has so far surfaced only as a combat trick that Hato applies directly against opponents, and that trick alone is enough to make her formidable.

The signature effect lets Hato harden the backs of her feet into rigid spikes and shoot them outward to a reach of roughly four meters, footwear included, since any shoe she wears stiffens and elongates alongside the heel. Both the extension and its retraction happen quicker than a person can react. The resulting points drive through practically any material, be it glass, stone, or the flesh of humans and Rock Humans alike, which allows her to climb sheer brickwork by anchoring her heels into it and to strike with sweeping kicks.

Notable Users

Hato Higashikata is the sole bearer of Walking Heart. In line with the Higashikata family habit of hiding the syllable king inside their Stand names, hers tucks it into WalKING Heart.
