Yo-Yo Ma

Yo-Yo Ma is the automatic Stand belonging to the assassin D an G in Stone Ocean. It looks like a squat, potbellied dwarf topped by a spike like the one on an old Prussian military helmet, its scaly little body dressed in torn overalls that leave the knees bare. Rendered green with blue clothing and pink gloves, its design draws on the woodland sprites of the Grimm fairy tales.

Despite being a Stand, it behaves with a clear personality of its own. It is a glutton that drools without pause and openly savors pain in a masochistic way, and once its master points it at a victim, it trails after them fawning and offering help. That eager servility is a ruse meant to lull the target into lowering their guard.

As an automatic Stand, Yo-Yo Ma runs on wide range, self-direction, and sheer durability, which lets D an G set it loose and then linger far away while it does the killing. It is very nearly impossible to destroy, having absorbed six bullets and repeated punches from Stone Free without harm, and it kept going even after Narciso Anasui disabled it, the damage landing instead on its user. Unusually for its type, it is genuinely clever, able to survive in the swamps, steer a hovercraft, and cobble together odds and ends from scrap. It is handed only broad objectives, such as slaying Jolyne and recovering the Green Baby, and left to reach them however it likes, clearing away anyone in its path.

Its true weapon is acidic saliva. The Stand secretes corrosive spit and scatters it around unseen through its constant drooling, then simply waits for its prey to make contact and begin dissolving. The acid can eat away entire portions of flesh without any bleeding or pain, so the damage often goes unnoticed for a while. It finds inventive ways to deliver the fluid too, loading it into the bite of mosquitoes or blending it into water thrown up in the path of a speeding boat.

The Stand's downfall comes when Anasui plants a frog inside its head and wires the creature's brain into its target-sensing, leaving it to think and act like a frog and unable to hold focus for more than moments. Even so, it only truly perishes, imploding into dust, once F.F. finally kills D an G.

D an G is the sole user, an inmate who prefers to hang back and let his tireless creation hunt on his behalf. Because the two share their fate, wounds inflicted on the disabled Stand rebound onto him, and his death is what finally undoes Yo-Yo Ma for good.
