Appearance

Esidisi cuts an imposing figure: tall, dark-skinned, and heavily muscled. A pale tuft of hair puffs out from beneath a towering headpiece, and a dark X, whether paint or tattoo, crosses his face from the bridge of his nose up toward his forehead and down to his jaw.

He wears a ring through his right nostril and a pair of thick hoop earrings, his brow usually fixed in a menacing frown. When he squares off against Joseph, his upper body is left bare apart from leather-like patches sewn directly onto his shoulders and chest.

Personality

Like his fellow Pillar Men, Esidisi holds an unshakable belief in his own superiority and regards humans as lesser creatures, taking particular pleasure in outsmarting Joseph. For most of his appearances he is easygoing and composed, weighing a situation calmly before he acts, and he never lets the goal of claiming the Red Stone of Aja slip from his mind.

That serenity, however, sits atop a violent temper. When rage threatens to overtake him he breaks into loud, tearful sobbing, a self-soothing habit that doubles as an unnerving way to throw his enemies off balance. His loyalty to Kars runs so deep that he will readily debase himself to serve their cause. He is also a sharp tactician, well versed in Sun Tzu's teachings and the principle that all warfare rests on deception.

Abilities

Esidisi's signature is his Flame Mode, renamed Heat Mode in the anime, which lets him raise his own temperature and boil his blood to five hundred degrees Celsius before flinging it to melt whatever it lands on. Building on this, his Erratic Blaze King Mode turns his blood vessels into long, prehensile needles that pump scalding blood straight into a target, while a spinning variant surrounds foes with those same vessels. As a final measure he can detonate his entire body to drench an area in boiling blood.

Being a Pillar Man, he reshapes his own anatomy at will and secretes a digestive acid that dissolves organic matter on contact, which he used to graft a severed arm onto himself after Joseph cut his own away. His most dangerous trait is sheer survival: once his body is undone by the Ripple, he persists as a bare nervous system, latching onto Joseph and seizing control of Suzi Q. He nearly turns her into a living bomb before Joseph and Caesar cancel out each other's Ripple to extract him safely, and the exposed remnant is at last destroyed by sunlight.
