History

Alongside Messina, Loggins spends roughly twenty days hammering Ripple fundamentals into Joseph and Caesar, demanding feats such as drawing a single breath for ten straight minutes or inhaling ten times in one second. Joseph remembers him as a merciless instructor and burned to pay him back for the ordeal. His own command of the technique is striking: he can hold water inside an inverted glass with just a fingertip, and even keep the liquid fixed in that shape after the glass is pulled away.

The students' graduation was meant to be a Ripple bout against their teachers, with Joseph squaring off against Loggins. Esidisi reached him first, however, killing him with one kick that tore out his lungs and stripped away his Ripple. Robbed of the match, Joseph turns his fury on Esidisi instead, later using Loggins' corpse as part of a gambit before the body is melted by the Pillar Man's scalding blood.
