Appearance

In cursed corpse form, Takeru appears as a little dog-shaped figure whose stubby limbs seem undersized next to the bulk of his body. He is lightly colored and wears nothing more than a plain polka-dot tie over black briefs. Back when he was alive and human, he had been a spirited little boy with fair skin, short and spiky brown hair, a bandage pressed to his right cheek, and a pale yellow collared shirt.

Personality

Bright and soft-hearted, Takeru cherishes his maker Masamichi Yaga in what comes across as a bond between father and son, going so far as to gather the other cursed corpses to raise Yaga's mood when he looked downcast. He thinks of himself as sharp and perceptive, grinning as he prods others to agree that he is a genius. His mother's despair following his death and her tears of joy when reunited with his cursed corpse suggest he had been a loving boy whose support she could barely do without, a tie Kusakabe himself confirmed.

History

Takeru tags along with Yaga to call on his mother, who relies on a wheelchair. He rightly deduces that the woman in front of him is his mother and proudly presses Yaga to confirm how clever he is; the instant it is confirmed, she leaps up from her seat to wrap him in a tearful embrace, recalling with joy the catchphrase he once used while alive. Later, sitting beside Yaga on a forest log, Takeru worries over how poorly his maker seems and works to lift his spirits. Yaga explains that he is setting out on a long trip and will be gone for a while, assuring Takeru that Tengen's protection will keep the forest safe. When Yaga at last leaves, Takeru, alongside the other cursed corpses he created, makes his grief at the goodbye plain.
