Daigin

Daigin's face is framed by a spiky black beard, matching sideburns, and a scruffy mustache. He wears a Marine cap fitted with side flaps and a guard plate at the rear. His outfit is a black double-breasted suit worn over a yellow shirt and finished with a red tie.

In keeping with most of the navy, Daigin subscribes to the doctrine of absolute justice. He dreaded the thought of even a single convict slipping out of Impel Down, certain such a failure would damage the standing of both the World Government and the Marines. Even so, he kept his composure and proved willing to heed reason, restraining a fellow Marine who had been struck by Sadi and accepting her instruction to stand watch outside while the prison staff dealt with the breakout. As a Commodore he commands the Marines beneath his rank and carries a sword, though his skill with it is unknown.

When word spread of the mass escape inside Impel Down, Daigin marched a Marine unit to the prison intending to seize Luffy. Chief Guard Sadi met him at the gates and refused entry, arguing the Marines would only become lost in the maze-like facility, and asked instead that he and his men guard the exterior, which he agreed to do. Later, the escaped prisoners Crocodile, Mr. 1, Jinbe, and Buggy fashioned a raft from one of the prison doors; Daigin, thrown off by Jinbe's Fish-Man Jujutsu, was left exposed as the convicts landed on his ship, which they then commandeered to flee toward Marineford, leaving his fate uncertain. In the non-canon One Piece Film: Z, he attended Fleet Admiral Sakazuki's conference concerning Zephyr's destruction of the first Endpoint.
