Chapter 531

The Marines are thrown into turmoil that a single pirate has breached their fortress prison, and capturing him becomes their top concern. A chief guard named Sadi remarks that the lower depths form a hellish maze in which a lost intruder is doomed to become collateral, then orders the drawbridge raised to seal Impel Down from the outside. A large koala creature peeks from a doorway behind her.

Hannyabal and Magellan escort Hancock to Ace's cell. Jinbe and Ace are taken aback, and the surrounding prisoners erupt at her arrival, babbling about Amazon Lily, a frenzy she only worsens with a cute expression until Magellan quells it with his poison Hydra. Pressed to be brief, Hancock turns and announces she is already done. A stunned Ace presses her, but she insists she has no reason to lie. With the warden and Hannyabal left baffled, Ace privately admits to Jinbe the truth behind her visit: his brother has entered the prison, a recklessness that shocks the fish-man.

Lost in the Starvation Hell, Luffy is set upon by Marines and tangles again with the Sphinx, then lights up at the sight of Zoro, only for the figure to turn out to be Mr. 2 Bon Kurei using his Mane Mane disguise, a reveal that delights and deflates him at once. The two team up to bring down the beast and celebrate their reunion. As Saldeath sends the Bluegori after them, Luffy and Bon Kurei stand ready to fight, both bent on reaching Level 5.

Hancock relays to Ace that Luffy has snuck in to rescue him, Luffy gains Bon Kurei as an ally, and Bon Kurei reveals he wants to find someone on Level 5, later shown to be Emporio Ivankov.
