Kentarō Itō is a Japanese voice and stage actor affiliated with Mausu Promotion who gave voice to ghoul leader Kazuichi Banjou in the Tokyo Ghoul anime, produced by Studio Pierrot.
Itō voiced Kazuichi Banjou, the towering former leader of the 11th Ward ghouls who later takes charge of the 6th Ward. Banjou's loyalties shift over the course of the story: he starts out as an associate of Rize Kamishiro and eventually swears allegiance to Ken Kaneki after being rescued from Aogiri Tree. Itō brought a booming, tough-guy delivery to the role that matches Banjou's stout build and fierce devotion to his followers.
Itō has spent decades in the industry known for his deep baritone, taking on parts once handled by voice legends Kazuyuki Sogabe and Takeshi Aono, both now deceased. Alongside his screen work he leads Theater Company K-Show, keeping a foot in stage acting as well as voice work.
