Foresight

Mirai Sasaki, the Pro Hero Sir Nighteye, used Foresight, a contact-range Emitter Quirk that debuts in Chapter 127 and in Episode 66. It handed him an hour of a chosen target's future, every move and action laid out ahead of time.

Two conditions had to be met in order. Mirai first made physical contact with his subject, then locked eyes with them. What followed played out for him like a memory viewed from outside: the target and their immediate surroundings, running forward through their life. How far ahead he could look never appeared to have a ceiling, and he read events sitting years past the present.

The blind spots mattered. Dates escaped him, leaving only rough guesses about when a distant event would land, and the further out he looked the looser the estimate grew. The vision carried no sound either, so future conversation was lost to him and certain actions stayed hard to interpret. Anyone who broke eye contact cut the feed. After a single use, a full day had to pass before he could call on it again.

The hardest question the Quirk raised was whether its verdicts were binding. Mirai believed they were, that what he witnessed would arrive sooner or later no matter who tried to stop it. Izuku Midoriya dismantled that belief during the fight with Kai Chisaki by walking straight out of the future he had been shown. Mirai's own explanation afterward was that the collective wish for a better outcome had bent it.

Sir Nighteye was the Quirk's only user, and he treated the terms of its activation as a secret of his agency so that opponents could not guard against them. In a fight, having already made contact, he mostly used it to slip punches; with an hour of an enemy's decisions in hand and his own skill behind it, he became effectively untouchable for as long as the gaze held, however fast the other man was. Investigative work suited it equally well, since a target's future gave up a great deal about them. Still, his fatalism made him reluctant, and he confined the Quirk to confirming results he already controlled rather than probing anything genuinely unknown.

The confirmed subjects are few. He looked at All Might without permission and saw a horrifying death at a villain's hands, a fate All Might expected within a year or two of meeting Izuku; the villain proved to be All For One, regressed by Rewind, and the prophecy nearly landed during the Final War until Katsuki Bakugo, carrying the hopes of the world behind him, pulled All Might out of it. He read Izuku during the stamp test at his office, foresaw every attempt, and failed him, then hired him anyway because that too had sat in the vision. A stranger buying toys during a shopping trip struck him as suspicious and turned out to be a Shie Hassaikai man; a quiet, unasked reading gave up where Eri was being held. On Kai Chisaki he glimpsed Izuku murdered and Eri carried off, the future that never came. His last use, from his deathbed, fell on Mirio Togata, and though he offered no details he died content that his student would grow into an outstanding hero, a reading borne out when Mirio took the No. 1 Hero spot eight years on from the war.
