Snip Clip

Snip Clip, rendered in Japanese as Hasami, belongs to Monika Kaniyashiki and appears in the Vigilantes spin-off. It is classified as an Emitter Quirk with a close-range profile, first surfacing in Chapter 34 of the manga and reaching animation in Episode 15.

The power carries a second, less official label. Monika's own character profile lists it under the name Scissors, though the anime adaptation stayed with Snip Clip when introducing her.

Activation comes down to a gesture. Monika brings her index and middle fingers together in the motion of a pair of scissors, and whatever happens to sit in that gap is cleanly divided. Material seems to matter very little: the Quirk shears the limbs off heavy steelworker exoskeletons without visible strain.

What constrains her is geometry rather than toughness. Nothing wider than the opening between two fingers can be caught, which keeps the ability tightly bound to what she can physically pinch. She works around this by using a larger pair of blades, closing her legs on a target to make a cut far beyond the reach of her hand.

That leg technique carries a named form. Rocket Crab Clip, or Roketto Kani Basami, comes into play when Monika is hurled bodily at an opponent, letting her land the slice with her legs at the moment of impact.

Monika Kaniyashiki is the only person shown wielding Snip Clip. Her fighting style leans entirely on baiting opponents into her narrow cutting window, with the Rocket Crab Clip serving as the payoff when she needs more than a fingertip's worth of blade.
