U.A. Traitor Arc

The twenty-first arc of My Hero Academia and the third of the Final Act Saga, spanning Chapters 335 to 342 and Episodes 140 to 143. It follows the Star and Stripe Arc and leads directly into the Final War Arc.

Class 1-A and what remains of the professional ranks assemble for the final push against Tomura Shigaraki, the League, and the man directing both. The exposure of the long-rumored U.A. traitor complicates everything and then, unexpectedly, becomes the plan.

All Might tells the class what the American data shows: New Order behaved like poison inside Tomura, eating through a substantial part of his stolen collection. The window is now. The target list runs to Dabi and Himiko Toga, six surviving Near High-End Nomu, whatever is left of the Paranormal Liberation Front, the convicts still at large, and the two villains at the top, with more allies likely to gather. Fewer than half of Japan's heroes are still standing. Class 1-A has spent every day since the war drilling under the Wild, Wild Pussycats and has no intention of being told to prepare.

In the villains' cave, All For One counsels patience while their shared Quirk Factors heal, and rebuffs Dabi's impatience by pointing out the difference between one fixed goal and decades of woven contingencies. He mentions, with satisfaction, that he has friends to spare inside a fortified U.A.

Toru Hagakure has noticed that one classmate stopped smiling. In the forest she finds Yuga Aoyama's parents relaying another order and begging him to obey or die, and realizes what he is. Izuku hears enough of it from her. Yuga fires Navel Laser at Izuku; Toru deflects it and demands to know what he was thinking while living among them. Blackwhip restrains the family, and Yuga confesses to the U.S.J. and the training camp, calling himself a despicable villain.

Interrogated at U.A., his parents explain the bargain: born Quirkless, wealthy family, a dubious rumor about a man who grants Quirks, and permanent captivity once the deal was struck. Yuga's body never suited the Quirk. Izuku answers by listing what a villain would not have done, the attempts to save Katsuki and Fumikage, the cheese left at his door as a cry for help, and by citing Lady Nagant as someone All For One manipulated whose spirit was broken and not her soul. He offers his hand, insisting the boy's future in heroics is not closed.

Momo names the obvious use: of everyone available, Yuga alone stands a chance of feeding the enemy a convincing lie. Tenya argues the class shares responsibility for missing what he was carrying. Aizawa, watching by tablet, takes his own share of blame, refuses to expel him, and delivers a plan he will only speak with the Aoyamas' ears covered. Naomasa gets the boy examined at Central Hospital, where no explosive trap is found, and Aizawa reasons that fear alone was the leash. In the interrogation room Yuga admits he is afraid of All For One and afraid he would fold again, and Aizawa tells him his sins are permanent, U.A. may not be his home afterward, and he will fight anyway because it is the only thing left to do.

The counter-force meets at Central Hospital under All Might and Hawks. Tomura now outstrips All For One in raw power, and the mind meld they exploited at Tartarus makes a joint attack unwinnable. The two must be separated by at least ten kilometres, and every major operative isolated and beaten one at a time.

Himiko returns to her vandalized family home to remember being told she was creepy and to restrain herself, and Dabi burns the place down, less out of kindness than to make Endeavor suffer. He hands her a vial of Twice's blood collected during the war and tells her to keep the Parade going. Spinner, meanwhile, finds Tomura's body mutating grotesquely, is told the Quirk Singularity is being overcome, and is pushed by Skeptic into fronting the heteromorph uprising in Re-Destro's place.

All For One's spies inside U.A.'s evacuee housing keep stoking resentment to force Izuku out again. Nezu announces Tomura will move in four days, and Class 1-A leaves on their own terms, relocating thirty kilometres out to Troy, a fortress built by Cementoss, Power Loader, and Ectoplasm.

On the cliff edge he finally gets to thank Ochaco properly for what she said to the public, and she admits Himiko keeps surfacing in her thoughts, a person she knows nothing about and cannot quite condemn. Izuku says he saw a crying boy inside Tomura and cannot unsee it. Shoto wonders aloud what his brother's favorite food is. Ochaco says they will stop them regardless. The day of the operation arrives, and All For One begins.
