An eye patch sits over his right eye, concealing the scarring underneath. His remaining eye is gray, and his dark brown hair adds to a generally unkempt impression.

His clothing is plain: a white shirt worn with brown trousers and shoes.

What the film shows of him is courage under duress. Coercion put him inside Humarise and set him to work on the Trigger Bombs, yet he still broke out carrying the one device capable of shutting them down, intent on handing it to somebody who would use it against the cult's plan to wipe out every Quirk user alive.

He also planned for his own failure. Understanding that his pursuers would probably catch him, he recorded a message and sealed it beside the key, addressed to whatever stranger might open the case, asking them to finish what he could not. Neither the likelihood of death nor the anonymity of that appeal deterred him.

Humarise treats Quirks as a disease on humanity. The cult abducted scientists, Alan included, and forced their cooperation by threatening their families. His work went into the Trigger Bombs, devices that flood an area with Ideo Trigger gas and send ordinary people's powers out of control, killing them through the amplified strain while their rampage levels everything nearby. The cult seeded these across its branches worldwide, intending to leave only its own membership and the Quirkless standing.

Eddie Soul, an engineer trapped the same way, built a kill code covering every bomb and paid for it with his life once the cult discovered him. Alan took the key Eddie left behind and ran, disguising himself among Humarise's masked ranks after their first attack destroyed a city. He carried a suitcase of documents with the key and a microSD hidden in a compartment, both sealed inside a puzzle box. Flect Turn learned of the escape and sent people to kill him.

He got as far as a highway before Beros shot his car apart with her Longbow arrows and put him into a crash. Shoto Todoroki broke off from a jewelry heist pursuit to respond. The case went missing in the wreck, exchanged by accident for one full of stolen jewels that Rody Soul was couriering. Alan himself was pulled from the car in critical condition and placed under Otheon police guard, and Clair Voyance identified him to Shoto as a Humarise member, leaving the students unable to question him. Rody eventually recognized the puzzle box from his childhood and opened it, and Alan's recording laid out the cult's real aim, to use the bombs as bait and destroy every hero at once, before begging whoever heard it to act. Rody flew the students to the cult's base, and after he was shot in the chest reaching the control room, Pino turned the key and killed the bombs, completing the errand that cost Eddie his life and left Alan broken on a roadside.
