Bombers

One template covers nearly all of them. Black skin sheathes a rounded winged body that ends in a forked tail, topped by a serpentine head blank of features apart from a wide, strangely lipped mouth. Bat wings rise from the back. The belly is the important part, swollen because it stores the explosive energy the creature exists to release.

Specimens built for a particular job break the mold. The specialized Bomber designed to kill Captain Celebrity, for instance, came out larger than the rest and carried six arms.

There is nothing there to describe. The Bombers were made to take orders and carry them out without question, and they show no sign of independent thought. Because their intended use is the suicide attack, they possess neither fear nor any instinct to preserve themselves.

Alongside the rest of the Next-Level Villains, the Bombers rolled off the line at Onomura Pharma Corp., cultivated inside a dedicated Bomber Warehouse. Number 6 wanted Captain Celebrity dead and opened with a trial run close to the Marukane Department Store, a spot the American frequented. A Bomber seized a taxi carrying the Sisters of Saint Lila's Academy away from a Christmas party, and as Captain Celebrity closed on it, Number 6 detonated the creature by remote. The hero's Flight barrier saved the girls only because he stripped his own protection to do it, which told Number 6 exactly where the weakness lay. He withdrew to plan a lethal attempt and released more of them.

His chosen occasion was Captain Celebrity's farewell party at the Tokyo Sky Egg. Before he could begin, the laboratories were raided by a police force under Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi with Eraser Head and Fat Gum backing them, forcing Number 6 to blow nearly every Bomber at once to escape and erase the evidence. Five survived, and he took them to the tower anyway. One detonated to draw Captain Celebrity outside, a second to distract him, and an unusually large third gutted the structure, leaving the hero holding the building up and helpless. Of the remaining pair, one perched on the dome and fired an electromagnetic pulse that killed the power and the phone signals so nobody could call for help, while the six-armed specimen, carrying a regeneration Quirk, hammered him with explosive punches and regrew its arms as fast as it spent them. Koichi Haimawari reached him first, Pro Heroes followed, and the Bombers were beaten.

One got loose regardless. Following Number 6's instructions, it duplicated its own body enough times that its self-destruction cracked the Tokyo Sky Egg and started it falling with thousands still inside, and only a call placed to All Might minutes earlier brought the top hero in time to save them. Number 6 still refused to stop, using his device to fuse the leftover Bomber cells into a mass that combined regeneration and duplication to grow and vomit out a swarm of Mini-Bombers, all of which All Might annihilated almost at once with Nebraska Smash. Number 6 then declared the Bombers finished, though their cells were later repurposed to create the Anonymous.
