David Shield builds the things heroes wear. All Might's former sidekick, turned support-item genius and Melissa's father, he answered his friend's fading power the only way an inventor could, with a machine, obtained the wrong way, for reasons he believed were right.
Age shows lightly on David, a few wrinkles across a face framed by wide square glasses. He is tall and averagely built, with aqua eyes and short brown hair that never lies flat, two tufts standing out as bangs above a short goatee. His civilian look is a blue button-up and pale trousers, a metal-buckled dark belt, and navy sneakers accented in red over pale soles. A dark watch and a wedding ring sit on his left arm.
The younger version wore his hair shoulder-length and slicked back with one strand loose across his face, no beard and no lines. He kept a crimson hoodie under a white lab coat with the hood pulled out over the collar, and finished with dark trousers and black sneakers laced in white.
Like All Might, David runs on generosity, forever trying to invent his way toward a better society. His own Quirk was never going to make him a Pro, so he equipped the people whose Quirks could, and he poured the same devotion into Melissa, loving her openly and backing her without hesitation after she turned out Quirkless.
His friendship with All Might sits close to worship. He was elated to see him again after years apart, held the No. 1 Hero in the highest regard, and, having served as his sidekick and costume maker, knew about the injury and the true form. What he did not know was where One For All had actually gone, a fact All Might withheld out of fear for his safety. So when he realized his friend's strength was draining toward retirement, he refused the premise. He hired fake villains to besiege the I-Island tower purely as cover for stealing back his own Quirk Amplification Device, drawing the line only at anything that would genuinely endanger people. Caught by Melissa and Izuku Midoriya, he accepted whatever punishment was coming, provided the device reached All Might first.
Then Samuel Abraham, his friend and assistant, brought real villains in and arranged to hand the device to Wolfram for a price, and David jumped in front of a bullet for him anyway. Kidnapped and stripped of his invention, he told Izuku to leave him behind, and was stunned that a U.A. student would come for him regardless. He finished the ordeal able to admit that All Might's era was closing, and that Izuku's generation, Melissa included, would carry it forward.
Squirmy Fingers bends his fingers well past a normal range, which is exactly what precision work on inventions and hero costumes demands.
Engineering is the real power. Every iconic All Might costume, Young Age through Golden Age, is his work, built from cutting-edge material and rated to absorb serious damage. The Allmobile is a red two-seat supercar with built-in thrusters for clearing obstacles, anti-projectile turrets, a drone that monitors targets and feeds the car information, and the ability to convert into a jet. The Quirk Amplification Device, built alongside Sam, is a sophisticated headset that strengthens a Quirk with no cost to body or brain. I-Island's sponsors feared what it would do in the wrong hands and sealed it in the tower's vault, which is exactly where the wrong hands found it. Wolfram wore it and matched a weakened All Might and Izuku fighting side by side, wrecking I-Island in the process, before the headset was destroyed.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Yes. David Shield has a Quirk called Squirmy Fingers, which bends his fingers well past a normal range, useful for the precision work his inventions and hero costumes demand.
David Shield secretly hired fake villains to besiege I-Island's Central Tower so he could steal back his own Quirk Amplification Device before All Might's power faded completely. Real villains led by his betraying assistant Samuel Abraham then hijacked the plan, kidnapping David until Izuku Midoriya and Melissa Shield rescued him.
David Shield is known as All Might's former sidekick and costume designer, credited with building every iconic All Might costume from the Young Age through the Golden Age, as well as inventions like the Allmobile.
David Shield's daughter is Melissa Shield, whom he loves and supports openly even though she turned out to be Quirkless.
The Quirk Amplification Device is a headset invented by David Shield and his assistant Sam that strengthens a Quirk with no cost to the user's body or brain. It was sealed away on I-Island until the villain Wolfram stole and used it.
