Gyges
CharacterGyges was one of the guards posted at the main entrance of Tartarus, working the gate alongside his brother Briareos. When All For One's assault reached the Bronze Gate, he lost his brother in the opening exchange, called the code red that warned the prison, and was killed moments later.
Appearance
Six arms extended from a lanky frame. The defining piece of his gear was a helmet that sealed his face away completely, fitted with a pair of horns.
Personality
Little of him is on record beyond his commitment to the job. Once he understood what All For One and the Nomu meant for the prison, his response was to raise the alarm.
History
Gyges and his brother Briareos were holding the Bronze Gate, the mainland entrance to Tartarus, when Tomura Shigaraki, under All For One's control, arrived with his Near High-End Nomu. The brothers turned the prison's security robots on the attackers to drive them back, and Briareos was killed during that first confrontation. When the guards inside called for a report, Gyges relayed the death and triggered a full lockdown at code red. Finding the entire episode tiresome, All For One reached for his Quirk and blew apart the span of bridge under Gyges' feet, then carried on into the prison.
His Quirk was never named. It appears to be the source of the six arms, though whether they retract or are a permanent part of his body was never clarified, and the effect resembles Mezo Shoji's Dupli-Arms.
